Practice Guides
The Missouri Injury & Insurance Law Blog is organized around five core issues practice guides for lawyers handling Missouri injury, insurance coverage, bad faith cases. The practice guides are designed to help readers find relevant articles by issue, category, and tag. You can go to one of the practice guides below to discover topics relevant to each practice area.
Each guide provides a high-level framework outline for a major area of Missouri practice and points readers toward related subjects. The goal is to make the site easier to use when a lawyer is searching for content about a specific issue or problem: coverage, liability, damages, insurer conduct, settlement structure, discovery, trial practice, or electronic evidence for example. These issues are hyperlinked where an article has been published on the blog most often by tag so the link will lead to all published articles with that tag aka key word. A single case may involve more than one guide because injury claims, coverage questions, bad-faith issues, and litigation procedure often overlap. This method is used unless the link is a higher-level category name or if the key word only leads ton one article. There are some terms that are not yet hyperlinked but will be as the number of articles published increases overtime. So, if a key word has no hyperlink, it is a topic that is on the agenda to cover but articles have not yet been published.
The practice guides and all articles on this blog are starting points, not substitutes for detailed legal research. As noted in the disclaimer, I do my best to make sure the citations at publication are correct, but I do not edit past blogs as a result of statutory and regulatory changes or new case law. If I address the topic again, I will include the latest law I deem relevant. I hope other attorneys find this blog informative and helpful. If attorneys have comments about the content my contact information is on the Author page.

How to Use the Practice Guides
Start with the guide closest to the issue of interest. The guide pages provide a framework, and the related categories and topic tags lead to articles addressing narrower questions. Readers can move from a broad guide to more specific articles as the problem becomes more focused.
Other Ways to Find An Article
Alternatively, you can navigate from the home page and individual articles by category, or you can do a plain language search for the issue in the search bar in the top right-hand corner of the page.
